PFI Intermediate Freediver Class

Ready to push your limits? This course is designed for divers moving past the basics. We focus on enhancing your breath-hold capability and calming your mind to help you explore deeper waters with total confidence and ease.

Target Gain

Advance your skills to reach depths of 25m to 40m. You will master advanced equalization, better buoyancy control, and your CO2 tolerance.

4-Day Plan

Across four engaging days, we combine classroom theory, confined water training for drills, and open water sessions to safely hit your new goals.

Intermediate Qualification Metrics

Pre-Requisites
  • Minimum age of 16 for certification.
  • Proof of PFI Freediver or equivalent.
  • Assessment of watermanship and swimming endurance.
Static Apnea
  • Achieve 3:00 minimum static apnea
  • Display advanced oxygen managementManage safety support
Dynamic Apnea
  • 25m Constant Weight or Free ImmersionReach depth with controlled formRefine neutral buoyancy

Essential Gear Prep

Low-Volume Mask

A high-quality, low-volume mask is vital for providing clear vision and efficient equalization.

Full Thermal Protection

Appropriate exposure protection, such as a hooded wetsuit, to ensure comfort during lengthy sessions.

Standard J-Snorkel

Simple and streamlined snorkels without valves are required for optimal airway safety and control.

Quick-Release Belt

A rubber weight belt with a quick-release buckle is mandatory for maintaining buoyancy and safety.

Long Fins

Powerful long-blade fins designed for freediving to help you move efficiently through the entire column.

Dive Computer

A timing device or freedive computer is necessary to track your depth and monitor surface recovery time.
