Performance & Safety Standards
Pre-Requisites
- 12 years old or older.
- You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.
- No prior experience required.
Static Apnea (STA)
- 1m 30s minimum breath-hold
- Master calm oxygen management
- Demonstrate safety surface protocols
Dynamic Apnea (DYN)
- 25m underwater horizontal swim
- Focus on streamlined kicking form
- Safety surface protocols
Rescue Drills
- Static & Dynamic Rescue
- LMC and BO Protocols
- Buddy safety drills
Required Equipment
Students are encouraged to have personal mask & snorkel at minimum. Instructor will provide freediving equipment for pool.
Low-Volume Mask
A low-volume freediving mask ensures easier equalization and a better seal during deep dives.
Light Pool Wetsuit
Two-piece open-cell wetsuits with integrated hoods for warmth and superior flexibility in cool waters.
Freediving Snorkel
Simple J-style snorkel without purge valves for maximum safety and streamlined performance.
Rubber Weight Belt
A flexible rubber belt with quick-release buckle to maintain position and ensure emergency ditching.
Long Fins
Freediving blades (plastic, fiberglass, or carbon) designed for efficient propulsion with minimal effort.
Timing Device
Required for monitoring static apnea and dynamic performance
